What If Every Company Offered 20,000 Paint
Colors?
In an effort to
extend their brands' reach beyond the retail sales floor, many
popular paint companies now make their entire color catalogues
available for viewing online. The convenience virtual browsing
affords consumers is obvious. What may be less obvious is how these
resources can be combined to offer paint shoppers a previously
unfathomable number of color choices.
Most companies that make their color catalogues available online
can also produce all of the colors found in their competitors'
catalogues. What this means: if you like a color company X offers
but prefer to buy paint from company Y, you can be reasonably
certain that company Y is fully capable of reproducing company X's
color.
Below is a list of twelve popular brands of paint. Some names may
be more familiar than others. Each offers their own proprietary
color viewing tool.
Is 20,000 colors enough? Seems like it should be. When taken in
their totality, we're not sure exactly how many colors are
available through the following links. We do know that two of the
brands listed combine to offer nearly 10,000 different colors. It
is entirely possible that the 20,000 paint colors estimate is way
low. Either way, have fun exploring. And remember, in most cases,
any color offered by any one company can be replicated by any of
the others.
